How many people do you know that read?
How did you meet them?
What do you make of their personality etc?

The only person I know who reads right now is my gf. We alternate into reading out loud a book each day when we’re in bed before sleeping.

A few. The first person I knew who read voraciously was my mother. I told her I hated her earlier today. I don't know why, just that I wanted to hurt someone, and she was the most vulnerable because she loved me the most. So I told her I hated her and never wanted to speak to anyone in my family again. Then I ended the call, snapped the phone in half and started sobbing uncontrollably. I think using this site has harmed me. The only other people I know that read are my coworkers, mostly Nurses. They like historical fiction or low fantasy, especially involving apothecaries. Presumably they self-insert as the wise-woman type and imagine themselves "doctoring" in the medieval period using modern Nursing practice (curiously, never as barbers/surgeons, which was a more masculine, visceral endeavor). I feel really bad about hurting my family. But I know that I shouldn't care, it's pointless to care.

I'm sorry to hear about what happened today. Your mom sounds like a decent person and it would be good to apologise.

Possibly. Leaving here would be for the best. At least take a break from it. Maybe build up to leaving completely by taking short breaks.

I had a couple of friends in high school that read, 1 boy, 1 girl, we lent each other books, you can say the common interest brought us closer, had a couple of gfs that read later on, met more people that read but never got too close, so don't know how much or tastes. even influenced a friend to become a reader.

they all had distinct personalities.
I'm not considering people that read sci-fi or fantasy as readers, only literature.

Fuck no, all the nerdy hobbies attract the most socially awkward and physically unimpressive people who are hungry for any ounce of clout the can get; they tend to turn every fucking hobby in an autistic competition over the most useless shit.
