There are several biographies out there for Yukio Mishima. One by John Nathan, Henry Scott-Stokes, Marguerite Yourcenar, Christopher Ross, and probably a lot of others. I have no clue which is the best of them all though. I'd like to throw that question out to anybody here who has read any of them.

A critical bio on Higuchi Ichiyo, well known Japanese novelist from the late 19th century. It intersperses the biography with her diary entries and also includes nine of her short stories translated at the end.
