His writing style (or at least the "new" translation's one) is very clear, it also helps that he doesn't have a "system" so he doesn't need a lot of definitions. Other philosophers like Descartes or Schopy also write pretty damn well, they are concise and don't try to obscure anything.

Anyways, seems like the whole system can be reduced to a linguistics problem more than anything. something solved back at the greeks. With a word either being a representation of a perfect ideal or as the porous grouping of a set of particular examples. That literally solves your spook problem and does away with the need for such a useless word.
There is no practical difference between a human body and a government. they are both a group of organs and organisms working in a specific way that produces a transient whole that we find situationally useful to regard as a certain thing. Truth calls to the ideal of a more perfect understanding of a subject. Charity is an act that fulfills certain aesthetic will. these are all “real”, and calling them spooks does nothing but bring attention to descriptive nature of language. Just seems like watered down empiricism/positivism with more mystic qualities.

A friend of mine had the same problem, he wanted to read about Schopy because of Warner but he didn't wanna read about metaphisics and ontology. What's funny tho is that I would recommend you first read Descartes, Hume, Leibniz and Baumgarten before even getting to read Kant first. And you surely need to read Kant and Schopy's thesis (fourfold root) first, the Will is an extension of Kant's noumenon.

I am me what is beneficial to me is what moves me towards my goals. If those goals are not actually my own they are someone else’s.
