You seem to be under the impression that I was taught things useful for game programming/design. (Nevermind that in order to get a job in the industry, there's a whole different process to follow. Market is oversaturated with people who can do everything you can do and have 10 years experience on you.)

But to get back to my original point - it is theoretically possible to make games with what I learned. Theoretically. I'd have to do this alone, like Toady or game designers from the 80s. I'd have to teach myself how to structure code - something that should be taught, but isn't, and is required for a game more complex than Snake. (I can, and did code a Snake game in C. And VHDL too.)

To use an analogy that is more comprehensible to a layman, let's consider someone who wants to be an architect. He enrolls in what he believes to be a program that teaches architecture and winds up knowing some carpentry, some masonry and with proficiency in using common tools. Does that make him an architect? I don't think so.

As yet another person who studied graphic design, found out that graphic designers were more common than rats and just as determined to eat your lunch, and now does something else entirely, my recommendation is to learn serious web design and ideally at least one programming language.

Graphic design is what everybody does because it's "art that pays" but it only pays you if you're lucky, competitive, and willing to do the kind of soulless advertising work that you hate seeing right now.

I mean seriously, my honest recommendation is that you drop out now and take an apprenticeship in pipefitting, or as a machinist, or an electrician. These are fine jobs, equally fulfilling, and unlike graphic design there's not a lot of new people who want to do them.
