I like the idea of Indra's net. A single blade of grass reflecting an infinitude of worlds, that kind of thing. Is there any literature that talks about this idea and has this sense of 'scale' aside from pic related?

The Yoga Vasistha, Venkatesananda's 780 page translation of it published by CUNY press is the best one

Fazong's Golden Rafter sutra goes over this (tl;dr you can only properly describe a rafter by simultaneously describing everything in the entire universe).

Jamgon Kongtrul - The Treasury Of Knowledge Book 1: Myriad Worlds

There is an idea that Vairocana (Dhyani-Buddha of the perfection of space) manifests itself in any space, however small, and infinite worlds appear in the body of Vairochana. Thus, in any infinitely small volume of space, there is an infinite number of universes.

Modern physics has sometimes come up with similar ideas

I'm not sure about the last one. Once upon a time I read "Many Worlds in One: The Search for Other Universes" by Alex Vilenkin, methinks. Something reminded me. Although I always warn others against such comparisons.

yes, you can make that conection, also some people think it's a precursor to the relations based ontology of german idealism, that are no longer given being by a trascendental object but by their relationship with every other thing, each thing has on itself all other things in the cosmos but at the same time is unique, it has a unique configuration, a particular place in the cosmos
