They're good if you're in a hurry and just want vague impressions of how a book has been received by popular audiences and I've cultivated a sphere of reviewers on there who, regardless of my moral, aesthetic, and intellectual judgment of them, I can count on for meaningful reviews and recommendations.

I don't normally pay attention to the reviews unless it's completely horrible star ratings overall, also, I disregard reviews left by people with a picture on their Goodreads account. I only really use Goodreads to set book challenges with friends and see how they get on
