my opinion of reddit has always been pretty low but jesus fucking christ. my question /lit/ is what makes people think this so appealing when I'm physically embarrassed by it? like am I wrong?

4chan is full of ironic shitposters and cynics. of course it makes you cringe. the dude's little scribble was earnest, even if he's probably an autistic fag.

that prose is absolute dogshit, all those commas and full-stops ruin the building dramatic effect you usually want monologues like this to have. Also those cliches are eye-roll inducing ("white as fallen snow," "consuming all in its path," etc etc)

Overusing commas, and not in the best placement for a good flow.

How do I give 4chan gold?

keep in mind the retards reading this are those who fell into "hype" for a temporary internet mosaic and probably spent a majority of their time these past few days focused solely on it
They are simply inhuman. No point in wondering about them

Not as bad as I was expecting. It’s weird seeing stilted “poetry”

I don't think it has to do with 4chan in that I'd have felt uncomfortable at it even before discovering the ol japanese basket weaving forum. the sincerity is what makes it worse because is this sincerely what people genuinely think good? what I'm trying to get at is is there inherent value to something people quite clearly like that I'm just too closed/different minded to acknowledge?

Can you retards explain what's so bad about it? Seems like baseless contrarianism to feel superior.

Yes, it's not cringe because the guy (earnestly, in good faith) wrote some bad poetry. Plenty of people have written bad poetry. What's cringe is the 10,700 upvotes and the people telling him how much of an amazing writer he is; he's not cringe, the people telling him that he's good are cringe

..... Am I being baited? This could only sound good to people who don't read. Not as bad as OP but very amatuer.
