Yeah I liked the book but it is overrated as I don't think it says anything too profound he simply failed to desensitize himself to violence and failed to become a sociopath but it was interesting to read about the failure of this plus I think it gave me a better grade on my Spanish GCSE because my Spanish teacher had also read it and liked the book and I talked about the book in a little speech I had to do

Kinda seems like you're missing the point. The point is _you can't_ just because you reason out that you should do so. You can plan all you want, when it comes to doing the deed, things won't work out the way you thought, and your humanity will get in the way. Isn't the whole 'alpha-beta' thing a total crock of shit? Not only that, but you're not a fucking dog anon, you shouldn't aspire to act like a tongue wagging ass-sniffing puppy anyway. Even if you could through glib analogy compare cliques and social groups or even families to wolf packs, you'd probably find the 'alpha' of the group changes and rotates based on situational competence. It's a role that is played rather than an intrinsic quality.
A lumberjack might be the alpha if you're in the woods, but if there's a more competent car mechanic and they need to fix a truck that he's not experienced with, he's gonna shut his goddamn mouth and do what the experienced mechanic tells him. Why? Because he's a fucking man. He doesn't feel the need to prove anything to anyone, let alone a bunch of cock-carriers. He's confident enough in himself to not feel the need to make himself the hero or the 'alpha', and get everyone's attention so they can compliment him.
Then you get into the whole Master-Slave inversion which undermines it, think of the CEO who is absolutely useless without his P.A., or the father who works for 12 hours a day for his supposedly lower-in-the-pecking order kids. In almost any household, daddy is the alpha: yet why is he suffering for these kids? Does that sound "alpha". The Alpha-Beta dichotomy is a crock of shit.
Except in groups of females, they don't call them "bitches" for nothing.
