Just reread Meat, Meltdown and Transcendental Miserablism. His comments on imagination in the latter essay show a flaw in his thinking (pic rel.) He regards human imagination as ineffectual at grasping the nature of capitalism but his entire project is an attempt at capturing the nature of capitalism with the imagination. He's a beat poet who's forgotten he's a poet. He worships capitalism as the agent of change; ascribes to it forces that in reality don't exist then advices you to embrace these forces. Deluze and Guattari made there mistake in making the BwO transcendental: this opened the crack that allowed this scitzo poetry that doesn't believe it's poetry to flourish. Creating a goal for capitalism that in reality doesn't exist. It's not tending towards anything. It's all just poetry about nicks veneration of capital; a new god he can cling to until venerable death and the old questions can occupie him once again. He complains that neo Marxists are bored while he embraces capital, but really he's just as bored of the present; hoping for some utopian (by utopian I mean more interesting) cyber future. Some interesting ideas but only interesting to the imagination ironically.

No it isn’t lmao. For one thing, trying to reductively summarise his “entire project” in a single line is silly. For another, land has only ever been interested in intelligence, not imagination. He makes no attempts to capture it, merely observe the direction of its trends.

He doesn’t think capitalism is an “agent” at all, nor does he advise his reader to anything. The “ateleology as teleology” argument against Land is potentially valid but not in the way you’ve elaborated it at all.
