While yes God allows for righteous anger and punishment for those who walk away from his protection. He does not take joy in our suffering, like any good parent. Please do your research before reading this to those with little understanding of the Bible, it is not an actual interpretation of the Bible, but a viewpoint of the author from his personal interpretation.

Do you know how few christians actually read the bible? I'm sure that the reactionary converts here have at least read a few books given how zealous they are but average christians don't often read scripture themselves, they have it summarised in other pieces or by priests (the latter of which is probably closer to the intention of christianity given that it is religion far more than it is philosophy).

Showing the Bible for being as violent and as weird as it is is probably a great way to actually get kids into reading it properly anyway. Never really understood the obsession with showing scriptural stories as all hand-holding and forced smiles.
The Bible is a very human piece of text, by only focusing on the positive, easy to swallow bits, you effectively lobotomize it.

Christianity is the mythological tradition of your people. It's almost certainly 'wrong' ongologically, just like all other religions and philosophies. But that's besides the point; it has a deeper value. If you just want to know what happens when you die, or why the universe came to be, then you might as well make it up yourself because it's unknowable. A few of religion's deeper values are things like using myth to teach you how to interact with the world, giving a common narrative to bond a People, providing an institution to better the individual and facilitate healthier social behavior between people.
It just so happens the religious tradition of your People in particular is very old and beautiful. It's a shame that most people, including many of the faithful themselves, don't understand it.

I remember finding the lego bible website back in when i was 8 or 9 years old. I would be on my ipad for hours reading passages like when lego god saving lego hitler, lego angles raping lego humans and legos castrating other legos. It shook and questioned my belief in christianity and made my wee wee feel funny. I think around this time i was also watching videos that were part of the new atheist movement. But after all that, i still believe in a god. And looking back i think the brick bible uses passages out of context (but i never read the actual bible, so I don’t know) thanks for reading my blog!

This is true and part of why Christians are such easy targets to make fun of. There are millions of Christians, especially in the United States, who have never read a Bible verse their pastor didn't show them directly. So there are millions of people who call themselves Christians who are ignorant golems and don't understand anything about the history they claim. Being ignorant isn't a bad thing in itself but it opens them up to easy criticism and ridicule. This combined with the fact that White American Christians are no longer violent against their opposition (unlike a minority of Muslims who are willing to violently attack people that hurt their feelings) and the fact that White American Christians no longer have cultural hegemony (Jews have sufficiently undermined the cultural background of the USA and use their tremendous institutional and soft power through decades of conditioning and through organizations like the ADL in order to insulate themselves from criticism, and they also hate Christians and Christianity so Jews work hard to make Christians the target of ridicule) mean that Christians I think get disproportionately targeted for appearing to be backwards idiots. They basically are backwards idiots, but they are also being intentionally led astray and they have no way of defending themselves.

Atheists, generally speaking, are not any smarter or more informed than their Christian counterparts but they are not seen as socially acceptable targets the way that White Christians in the USA are seen as acceptable targets.

I read the online version (The Brick Testament) when I was a teenager, I was very familiar with the scriptures but also have a sense of humor so I personally really liked it and I found it funny. It could be anti-religious but I saw it as more being super literal readings, sometimes inaccurate on purpose because the text gave the justification to use legos in a funny way. And that made it enjoyable.
