Recommended this to an older friend of mine (late 60s) whom I know is into literature, we're meeting on Friday to discuss it over dinner. I just finished a reread (been a while and I owe it to him) and I think it would be nice to have some more obscure theories/hidden details to discuss. Or really anything beyond the obvious, he's very much not Online. If you feel like discussing the book (again) or directing me to shit online it would be awesome.

the "based on a true story" part always gets me

One of you faggots recommended that I buy this for my GF -- she hated it.

I would never recommend a woman read this, above their stations

I’m going to reread it soon. I haven’t since I was a teenager, but it left more of an impression on me than any book I’ve read before. I don’t think you can cut it down to one metaphor, but if I had to I’d say it is about introspection.

This is a stupid ass book and I rue the day I let myself be influenced to purchase it. $40 I could have spent on fine ice creams.
