writers whose work doesn't get much talk on /lit/

To start, pic related is Luigi Pirandello. I've read The Late Mattia Pascal and One, No One and One Hundred Thousand. Both novels are about identity and freedom. Both very playful, like a Fellini film. I'll definitely keep checking more of his work.

What are some other authors that deserve more love around here?

Interestingly, he has been received very positively in my country, well-translated, staged regularly, and a part of the more detailed high school curriculum. And the thing that most people appreciate about him are first of all his plays, then the short stories, and only rarely do I see people talking about his novels.
So I'm always surprised when I go to /lit/ and see people stressing a writer's prose even if the key part of their work was made in other formats. Same as Chekhov, almost everyone recs his short stories, even though objectively his plays were far more influential.

Can only speak for me, but my introduction to reading at all was through novels. So I have a strong inclination to start with novels and prose in general when reading any author.
