Alright, let's try this again because I'd really like to get this off the ground.

This is the club where we read short books each week. To vote for this coming week's book, use the link below. If you have an idea for a book you'd recommend for next week's reading, nominate it below. The only criteria is that the book is 200 pages or less.
Use the strawpoll link below to vote for our first legitimate reading. You can select as many titles as you'd like. We will begin this reading on Sunday 27th so that you have a little time to get your hands on a copy of the book. On that same day, a new poll will be posted where you can vote on the next week's reading based on the books which were nominated in this thread.

based thread and based Ansel Adams poster. I just finished hearth of a dog by Bulgakov and it blew my mind: it was probably the funniest book I've ever read. I wanted to post a thread about it but this thread was up and I thought it would be cool discussing short books.
what is your favorite non fiction short book?

I haven't read Heart of a Dog but I made it through the first part of Master & Margarita before taking a break. Is Heart of a Dog similarly fantastic or more realist?

It's hard to say what my favorite non-fiction book would be, but likely something from Edward Abbey.

haven't read M&M (yet, it's on my bucket list) though, HOAD is super funny, you should definitely give it a try (it's less than 100 pages so you can finish it in a couple of days)
It's not really realistic (don't want to spoiler too much but it's a dog turned human) but it has some "reality" topics like class struggle (rich doctor, poor people living in the building)

I see, so similarly in the magic realist style. The Master & Margarita is bonkers. I'll definitely be checking this out at some point. Thanks, anon.

I figured I would end the poll in a day or two when I forecast that interest in the poll will cease.
