one could argue that your capacity to understand the books in the first place already depends on how retarded you are. you could try reading books that explain how to think, but then, even if you do that, how would you know which of them are correct? you could end up believing in some nonsense that someone came up with and you wouldn't be able to criticise it.
if you really think that you're retarded, then train some practical skills first. your ability to think directly related to the problems you're trying to solve. for example, if you try to cook food, you will understand cooking books better. first you have to fail, and then read books to understand why you failed.
