i think that's kind of the point. "/lit/ humour" is an oxymoron. it's just an excuse to post the same couple of dozen tired old pictures again and again, like a horror story trope where a ghost is condemned to haunt the same place for all eternity until they are released from a curse or something. except here the ghosts are still alive, the curse is being a dysfunctional powerless zoomer, and there is no release.

I agree that the picture is pretty nonsensical. All of those views are right at some level, as the book has depth and is about a lot of different things.

The part you're missing is how it is openly about the idea of nostalgia due to an era ending (an era that may or may not have ever existed). Even in 1605 this "chivalry is dead, everyone's just a selfish and dishonest zoomer" meme was in full swing. It honestly has a lot of relevance to things like tradlarpers on 4chan, however you view them.

you can and prolly should change it because you're right, but as I understand it you're missing a central feature of that format, which is that the high and low iq takes reach the same assessment of a subject- but how they get there isn't the same. Like how instinct and wisdom has overlap. the low iq person doesn't know precisely why he likes something, the high iq person does, and the midwit is bein a dumbass by both denying his nature and failing to have enough knowledge to reach the correct conclusion. Or something like that

So one for dick and fart jokes might be
1) lol fart
2) what no irony? satire? this doesn't SAY anything. It's trash
3) something about how dick and fart jokes are a universal human commonality

Nah. You should read Planes, Trains, and Plantains (an actual, and much more interesting, troll essay about the story of Oedipus), the author later came out and explained that he did it to show how retarded grading is. He made the dumbest thing possible and still got a 68 or something, along with a note to meet the professor after class.

Never seen that but I am very curious. It's easy to forget how reading but not hearing words can lead people to have their own retarded headcanon of how they're pronounced and not even recognize it as such, and I'm sure this makes some embarrassing situations.

Also the film was pretty good for modern audience standards (Sort of an anime feel) but in regards to staying true to the original it fails.

No, not anyone, retard. We're talking about the people we see here. Most of them are really obviously insincere.

The real ones don't use the word "trad", it's just normal life for them. You don't use a buzzword to describe the experience of waking up and spending the day with your family.

I've done this so many times. I grew up reading a lot and discussing literature online, but I didn't have anyone IRL to talk about it with. As a result, I have a whole list of words I butchered when I actually had to speak in college. In particular, Greek names gave me trouble for a long time.
