Will anyone start reading Don Quixote this year on April 23rd?

Why this specific date?

It's Cervantes's death date, same as Shakespeare's, which is also his birthday.

I have the book on my shelf for a few months now and have never read it, I will start it on the 23rd of April.

I'm about midway through right now. It's fantastic, as of yet. What do you guys that have read it think?

>> No.20082206

ive been meaning to start it but wanted to wait till summer so if /lit/ starts a don q book club or whatever on the 23rd i would be down if nothing comes up

>> No.20082536

What would be a good cadence: 4 or 6 DQ chapters per day?

Seconding this. Maybe make another thread a week in advance so we have enough notice to get a decently sized group going, as well as enough time for those who don’t have a copy to pick one up.

That lines up with the time I plan on finishing reading the Divine Comedy and start reading the Canterbury Tales. Probably on a re-reading of the book

The world wouldn't be a better place if everyone acted like Don, but it would be funnier
