OP, I think a lot of people who come to /lit/ have a gigantic stick lodged in their rectums when it comes to this book.

The main thing I would say to you is not to neglect the humor, because it really is such a funny and entertaining book. I've read it many times and still laugh out loud at some of the things in it.

It's a good book. Some people hate Holden, some identify with him greatly. It depends on you really. I think your age will greatly influence your opinion on the novel. If you are a kid you will probably like it, maybe even love it. If you are 18-21, you may hate the hell out of it. If you are 22+ you begin to view Holden less and less as a peer and more as a child.

No, no pasa nada en todo el libro. Lee la naranja mecanica que es mas divertido e ideal para una persona de entre 16 y 20 años.

Good book about a character most people either identify with or hate.

Personally, I just felt bad for him.

You say Fyodor Dostoyevsky, I say Dan Brown.
You say Leo Tolstoy, I say John Grisham.
You say Nikolai Gogol, I say Jodi Picoult.
99% of readers have turned to truly terrible books and authors. If you are part of the 1% that still reads good books, copy and paste this message to five other threads.
