Is there at least one interesting philosopher who says that money is good?

Or are they all ascetics?

They never say money is good. However
>Or are they all ascetics?
Aristotle is described as indulging
>"conspicuous dress, and rings, and used to dress his hair carefully."
Fancy.
He owned many slaves and owned at least two estates, and had commissioned an sculptor to make many statues.
I'm pretty sure Thales, Aristotle, Schopenhauer, and Kierkegaard were either wealthy or had such large inheritances that they were able to pursue a life of philosophy rather than work. Wittgenstein too. I'm also pretty sure in at least one Platonic dialogue, I want to say either the Republic or the Sophist but my memory is not trustworthy, the ability to make money is described as a real skill

Edmund Burke is very forward in saying the wealthy are better people and deserve greater respect. Aye Rand holds a similar opinion but they come from very down directions in that Burke takes it for granted that most profit and wealth is based on expropriation of labor value and he sees this as having always been a basis for civilization as wealth and leisure devoted to cultivating creativity and intellect requires low level worker, however Burke is critical of wealth and leisure not being used for betterment of a culture and civilization but just to accrue more money and power. John C. Calhoun builds on Burke somewhat in his criticism of the postulates of the Declaration of Independence arguing men are not created equal and a just society is not an egalitarian society but rather one which ensures those more elevated live off those less elevated just like man lives off animals and an unjust society is one where those less elevated live off those more elevated.

That wouldn't make the money good. The good things you bought with the money are good, but the money is neither bad or good. See, you missed the point.
Money has no qualities except fungibility, it's simply the currency by which things are exchanged. Now, if the question was whether or not wealth is good, that's different.

Some of you mongoloids use "money" as a synonym of wealth, some as a means of exchange yet you communicate just fine like if words didn't have any meaning (tell me which "philosopher" you follow)
You need a modern era economist for this, not ancient mysticism - nor an academia bot. The excerpt is from Rothbard's The case against the FED.

This is a long standing idea, literally goes back thousands of years. People born to wealth see it as second nature, they're almost bored by it and thus incorporate it into a sustainable lifestyle centered around other things (fitness, academia, socialization, sight seeing, etc.) Newly rich people will never truly be able to shake off the work-a-day mindset and see their family's comfortable position as a safe and enternal situation, so they can devote their full being towards living the leisurely life. Also, they're more inclined to buy stupid shit to show off.

This, and other reasons, are why the generationally wealthy have always been put off by the newly rich and wanted to prevent more from coming into existence.

It's good in terms of what it does, certainly. Imagine how hard getting shit would be without currency. Fuck barter economy loving autists. Money is a Moral Good by making things more efficient, which dominoes into saving dying African children from cancer or something. That's why money is good, fatass.
