Who's the top Roman historians too read besides these guys

I'm going to start reading Roman history from the actual authors. this list here seems like a good place to start. Got any recommendations for me lit?

Ammianus Marcellinus is my favourite author. The picture of the Late Roman Empire and with the sheer brutality of his writing is wonderful

op here just looked him up. appears he was one was one of the best and his ancient peers compared him to thucydides.
never even heard of him before this thread. seems like its going to be interesting reads all around with this stuff

Related, who are the Greek historians? I know of Herodotus, Thucydides, Polybius, and Xenophon.

Diodorus Siculus was a Greek Roman who compiled a diverse library of histories from different era, places, and cultures.
Otherwise for more ancient sources, there are the logographers who were chroniclers before Herodotus.
