It seems that it can be said, without fear of being mistaken, that the term "truth" is an analogous concept, that is, that it is not univocal, that it has many different meanings. These meanings of the term "truth" make it, as I say, an analog (we are not discussing here what kind of analogy, whether of attribution, of proportion, etc., because there is no time), but they do begin to distinguish. First of all, truth is sometimes understood as a substance, strange as this may seem, as something substantial, whether the substance is of a personal nature (as when it is said "I am the truth"), or as when it is said in a impersonal sense (where the truth comes to be like a fetish, as for some the truth is the symbols 1 and 0, or the symbol 1 that appears in the algebra of propositions, where the truth is to give 1 in the valuation, and then this it is a fetish, it works as such). It is also true that both the substantive truth, "I am the truth", "I" is a substance, as if it is a fetish can be reinterpreted in a functional or pragmatic way, as we will see later. So, I think that what is most interesting are the meanings of the truth when the truth appears as a relationship, whatever it may be.

So, the idea of truth as a relation can be classified in many ways, its modulations, a set of them based on the diversity of the terms of the relation. For example, truth of knowledge is usually defined as a relationship between the subject and the object, the famous definition of Isaac Israeli that Saint Thomas reproduces, truth is the adaequatio intellectus et rei, there is the intellect on the one hand, on the other hand it is the thing, then in that relation of adequacy the truth would consist. Naturally, this idea of truth of knowledge has many difficulties, mainly because it supposes that the subject reproduces the object, and that reproduction is impossible to understand, it is a metaphor taken from a map, a portrait, a representation, etc. But in any case, this concept of truth of knowledge, of cognitive truth, has error as its counterpart, that is, truth is here opposed to error.
