How do you choose which book to read next when you have a lot of unreads books still and lots of them sound interesting?

>> No.19905760

Grab a book, start reading. If it does not catch your interest in a few pages, put it back. Repeat.

None of my books are on this list.

Im not sure that's possible.

I want to read books I might not even like, how else am I supposed to brag to people that I've read all the classics? A few pages also isn't a good indication of the quality of a book.

You are welcome.

But I was hoping for more detail into the thought process and not the difficulty of the process. I would appreciate it if you would care to elaborate on that part.

Like children clamoring for attention, several come to the front, scream the loudest, but I chose them all at one point and know I love them all, so like a calm mother I pick one out and read. I have started on several, I’m in the middle of four or so, but there’s no anxiety over any of it.
The only bother is how to list a book I’ve read half in one year and half in another. But that hardly matters.

If you jave to invest in something then invest in yourself.
Decide what is entertainment amd what is good practical knowledge.
From there see what can be of use as early as tommorow and what would be useless information, ie something your would only find use for at some far off undefined time and place.

You only care about which one to read next, so run a little tournament.

Round 1
1: Doctor Zhivago v The red and the black
2: Jude the obscure v Dead souls
3: Swanns way v madame Bovary

Round 2
1: Winner 1 v Germinal
2: Winner 2 v Winner 3

Round 3
Winner 1 v Winner 2

No need to sort the rest of the list until later.
