>though i was intelligent all my life
>take mensa test
>score 97
>tested at 125 when i was 6

Did my mom lied to me?
Also book about thinking you are intelligent when you are not?

I think i'll just drop the greek since i am probably too dumb to understand them

I am unironically depressed from those results as i recall the numerous time i thought someone was dumb or when i was struggling with algorithms as a developper and thought that was because i was off my adhd meds, my whole life has been a lie, unironically contemplating suicide, i feel ashamed

I can score 150+ in IQ tests by preparing for them.
what's the point of these tests if can do this?

Not to mention the online tests are so inaccurate. Iq tests in person take 90+ mins, and the results differ depending on what test you take.

They might be good general indicators, but don't base anything of of them.

>>19902127
Just so you know, I took mensa's online test once and it told me I didn't score high enough to become a member, and then I took the actual test at a mensa facility and they accepted me because I was in the 99th percentile. So their online tests apparently aren't trustworthy.

IQ results only become stable around late adolescence. Some children really develop faster, which doesn't mean they will still be the 1% percentile in adulthood.

I scored high enough on some IQ test to get into the gifted program and I think that was the last time I was concerned with IQ, even though I’m pretty sure I had no idea what was actually happening at the time.

Does a high score mean you’ll apply yourself more? Does a low score mean you’ll be depressed and fated to mediocrity? I fail to understand any utility in measuring IQ unless it opens more opportunities to you. Being able to join a high IQ society so I can mingle with people who put energy into that measure is wholly uninteresting to me. I would much rather spend my time with people that may score low on a test but are more interested in things I wish to form a community around (sports, games, books, etc).

The one i took when i was 6 was with an actual psychologist prior to my adhd diagnostic, i'll probably take one at the mensa facility just to be sure, also does taking massive amount of codeine when i was 16 fuck my brain up?

congratulations OP you have an average IQ.
What you have to ask yourself is why does being "average" attack your core sense of self so stongly? Is it because you've built a false self around yourself, in which IQ seems to have been the pillar? Has perhaps your shame and fear of your own nature caused you to create a shiboleth, and automaton personality, and without it you have nothing?

You don’t need a test to tell you that. If you were pursuing philosophy on some kind of contingency of you being special, it’s probably for the best that you stopped anyways.

Why are you such a slave to externality? Why can’t you make your own decisions? IQ will neither help nor hurt you in answering these questions. Why does your sense of self-worth depend so heavily on some probability distribution in relation to strangers?

>> No.19902373

>>19902328
it's not IQ that's stopping you from pursuing those things, but a fear of failure and lack of diligence.

In terms of books unironically read Brothers Karamazov

Intelligence is not the end all be all. Many great men in history were intelligent enough to realize greatness and proactive enough to seek it. Intelligence is also a downside as many people that realize how pointless things (presumably) are just become apathetic and lazy or kill themselves.
I say be the better man and enjoy yourself don't worry about shit you cannot change.

You took a matrix reasoning test with a score that isn't age adjusted. Raven's matrices or matrix reasoning on the WAIS is only a component of intelligence. I would trust the results of a more comprehensive test, although I'm sure what you took would be significantly correlated to what you would find on a real test.

IQ lowers with age. Not that you become dumber, but the relative gap lowers. If you are a 6 year old with the intelligence of an 8 year old, that's a massive gap of intelligence and growth. Whilst a 30 year old with a mind of a 32 year old is barely any different.

I.Q. measures you're mental age compared to people your physical age.
