I absolutely loved the series my first read through. It left such an impact on me I feel an obligation to remain loyal to George, who had enriched my life through his work. I think we will get at least a mostly complete edition of Winds at some point, even if it's after he dies. I do believe enough is written to get a decent book out of the manuscript. It might not be what George wanted. That's not to say I don't think he couldn't still pull it off, but we're definitely not getting a Dream of Spring. An outline might be released by Elio and Linda at some point, the only other two people who know the actually ending, but that's probably it.

I think so
Dream of Spring is literally a dream at this point though

I knew an adult figure reading the series when it was first getting published, I wish I would have read it back then and experienced what it was like before the series ruined my interest in reading it. I'm sure the first book is kino and plan to read anyway.

>> No.19857764

Do you think his publisher gave him an advance on the book 10 years ago after Dance of Dragons?

>> No.19857771

I actually just saw a rumor that said he will be releasing it in two weeks

Winds of Winter, not Summer.

Fat fuck will never finish it

>> No.19857973

I wonder if he'll decide to say "fuck it" and go back and rewrite the story how he originally intended before he let fans get in his head about "THEY PREDICTED THE ENDING AAAAAAAAAA"

I can see him doing this just to add further distance to the shitshow HBO produced.

>> No.19857986

>>19857973
I have no doubt in my mind it will end, if at all, completely different than the HBO series. I think he should. Give us something interesting to read.

>> No.19858012

>>19857986
I think that was always destined, but I'm talking about radically changing what he's already released/written.

>> No.19858055

I just can't see the series having a satisfactory ending with only two books. He built up the coming of winter and the Others for five books and it hasn't even begin yet. Unless the story ends with everyone dead and winter consuming the world forever, it will be horribly rushed.

Two more weeks.

No, fans did not predict the ending. George has answered questions about this. He says no one has figured out where he's taking the story and he wouldn't change any parts of his work if fans have figured something out, and he also said he doesn't read fan discussion or theories. With all the analysis that has been done on these books through the years iirc only like two fans ever managed to predict how one or two small events would play out in the novels.

I read it after seeing the show, after reading the dark souls guy talk about what a huge influence it and Fevre Dream were on his games, it's absolute kino, show has absolutely nothing on it. Even season 1 when it was at it's best its nothing compared to the books

I threw his books away after finishing a dance with dragons.

Probably but he won't finish the series. GRRM will be a cautionary tale in the future about how mishandling your property can crash and burn it no matter how big of a phenomena it was. He's like the anti Tolkien. Off topic i literally found that nice leather cover set of asoiaf books sealed for 25 bucks today.
