It's from a book called "Nietzsche as a Scholar of Antiquity".

Thanks for the title. Got it off LibGen and just finished the first chapter. It's amazing how adept he was at such a young age and how methodical he was in his work. Also makes me feel bad at how much of a pleb I am and the dog shit education I had compared to him. Kekkd and wept when I read that one line on how Neetzche had a better education in the classics after high school than a modern day student who has just finished uni.

reminds me of Schopenhauer who scheduled his lectures at the same time as Hegel, so no students ever came to watch him which made him seethe. He also submitted an essay to some competition held at a danish university but he was the only person who bothered doing it so they cancelled it instead of letting him win, which made him seethe even more

He was an remarkable fellow certainly. When you think about the events of his life, it's almost like something from fiction: the loss of his father, the early rise in academics, the ill-fated relationships with Lou and Paul, the father-son type relationship and eventual falling out with the world's most famous musician and, of course, the horse in Turin. It's a shame that he's still maligned by so many.
