Absolutely this. Schop is being a retard and focusing on his isolated milieu experience and ignoring the totality of human potential.

Women do face more barriers to greatness, but they aren't what you would expect. Far more prohibitive than gatekeeping is coddling. Men want to fuck women and so we shower praise on them for mediocre results. Women truly are capable of brilliant results but even at the level of mediocre they hit an incentive wall in the form of praise and attention from the outside world. They aren't going to be compensated any more for their skill in social capital beyond the level of mediocre. They have to develop an inner motivation that supercedes the outer praise to push past this barrier.

And for what? Largely a total absurdity. Especially when you factor that women weight group standing more strongly because producing and caring for a child is not a feasible solo activity. That's not weakness, some tasks require a group to produce a good outcome.

The narrow path open to women to achieve true brilliance is through autism or mental illness. It's too transgressive to a healthy woman's innate drives. That's the cost of being the child production unit. If you want to compete for brilliance you have to live a joke of a primal urge spurning existence.

Men at least have a closer to brilliance primal alignment as pump and dump self reliance while letting a beta orbiter raise your kids was a viable propagation strategy.

It's insanely hard for someone of either sex to put forth the amount of effort to be brilliant, but it at least is not as transgressive an undertaking for male urges versus female urges.

Sailor Who Fell From Grace With The Sea is incredibly short but it's a very good introduction to his general aesthetic ideals & I think you'll appreciate it more after reading those essays

Confessions of a Mask gets touted as his book about the difficulty of being gay in a conservative society, but it's actually more about his relationship with masculinity from childhood to adulthood. It's similar to Dazai's No Longer Human. You can skip this one though if you'd prefer to avoid even the slightest bit of homo shit

Temple of the Golden Pavilion is just plain perfect from start to finish and it's one of my favorite books
