Organized religion is a mockery of God. Fallible humans making decisions about which of God's commands to obey or ignore. It's not surprising that these idiots give into every fad and buzzword and make a mockery of what should be their most important beliefs. Islam has none of this. No organizations or hierarchies or any of that nonsense. Ironically that actually makes our beliefs less vulnerable to subversion. The only 'authority figures' in our religion are just people who have studied the Quran and Sunnah more than the average person has, and their authority comes from that knowledge, not some title or membership in some committee.

As someone who has walked that path I can tell you that no, there are no good books for it and those which are better will likely lead you away from it (eg radical orthodoxy).

Either you go catholic/orthodox or you will go evangelical/bible centric Protestant. Big tent churches don’t really make sense when there is actual choice available in your denominations. Not to mention as well it’s in an organisational mess that’s heavy on debts/obligations and has a leadership that’s too liberal for its members and too conservative for mainstream society

If you grow as a human being your beliefs will including religious even if you don’t change religion. Religion for me was always an extension of my pursuit of philosophy and not about finding an identity or sense of belonging or some existential struggle or need to give myself a purpose, it was just about truth. But if religion is more self centric and a personality crunch then your search will never take you beyond apologetics and you won’t assimilate what you learn in a meaningful way

I'd recommend any book by C.S. Lewis really, he's one of the few anglican (episcopalian) Christian apologists of note. His book 'Abolition of Man' is one a classic among rightoids as it saw coming much of the dehumanisation which would happen during and after he died.

A writer I know to be episcopalian and right-wing is Albert Jay Nock and his book 'Our enemy, the state' is a classic among ancaps and his 'The Myth of a Guilty Nation' is liked across Paleoconservative anti-interventionist circles.
