I've seen people here that it's a fantasy of (trans)humanism. What does this mean? Are there any books that criticize the book in picrel?

I've genuinely been wondering this too. My guess is that it's because people don't like the implications of Harari's mechanistic (almost Hegelian) view of history. I think Harari is something of a Fukuyamist, which seems to piss everyone off beyond all measure

someone should link a few serious critiques of the book for us to read tho

I simply refuse to read any books
>written by jews
>written by journalists
>advertising being on the new york times bestseller list

Bonus sus points for "brief history" riffing on the brief history of time (another book I refuse to read).

If you'll excuse me I'm halfway through reading pic related.

>What is "wrong" with this book?
Atheist dishonesty.

As most atheists, Harari is an intellectual coward. He's very close to accepting the truth that we're just a cosmic flatulence on an indifferent universe, and that a cold bloody murder is as morally indifferent as a supernova exploding a billion parsecs away. But when he's about to jump to honesty, he appeals to his idiotic vegan hindu bs to justify his ridiculous worldview which can be summarized as:

>Nothing matters except being vegan and accepting homos.

>> No.19829051

>author spends half the book talking about farming and the only thing some people can read in the book is about homosexuality

I've only read the sequel and thought it was trash. The first 2/3 of the book are literally unnecessary and him stroking his own dick for how smart he thinks he is, and the last 1/3rd is literally 0 original/new contribution to what awaits us in the future.

Just finished, yet another cute and funny installment from an author who really knows his MMOs. The ending date between Maple and Sally with handholding was very moe. Eagerly awaiting volume 5 and season 2.

It doesn't really have any scientific backing, it's just his musings. You're not going to find many 'sources' for the stuff he says, and he gives a lot of half-truths and generalizations summarizing the science behind a thing.

I read the book (am conservative) it’s a very interesting book until he starts vomiting his own opinions about modernity in the last half of the book. It goes from informative and well written to straight up propaganda to push his political sentiments. It was hard getting through the last half.
