Is the Gaddy Daddy the greatest American novelist of the 20th century?

I like how he writes dialogue. But sometimes I think he gets too bitter to read. J R got uncomfortable from all the failing marriages and divorce rants.

I geuss really laying out his neurosis bare of the difficulty of fir a long time intimately loving the same woman. Having to live up to expectations daily, having to maintain your attraction to them. Not letting things bother you to hatred. It is very scary and hard. A humans are absolute strangers, often times even to themselves. A long term committed intimate relationship is one if the strangest activities a person can take part in

I still think Mason & Dixon is the peak, especially for American literature. Gaddis is pretty good too

he's nice but doesn't come close to gaddis.

idk, pynchon is very goofy which is a good thing, his books are fun and funny, but i still think gaddis achieved more with his major books.
