The Dan Abnett 40k books are far and away the best, especially the inquisitor ones (what's he called, Eisenhorn?).

Fuck the haters - I really like the 40k books (B.A [hons] in English Lit from Durham University, just for full disclosure - I've got nothing to prove, and no need to 'grow up').

The professionalism of this kind of writing is what impresses me - they get about five thousand quid I think, and they have to produce around a thousand pages, on time, every time, or they never get another gig on warhammer.

That kind of craft can't be ignored. So before you start dissing these guys answer me this: how many words did you write today? Do you anticipate feeding your family from it?

40k books are quality, and I back up the Gentleman from Durham above me. I'm at York (by choice, I rejected Durham, before you beat me with your giant league table based cock), and so have as much/little credence to back that up as him at least. ignore tha h8erz br0, it's good stuff.

As for Chaos, Dan Abnett is quality but not that. Soul Drinkers set are pretty good, they are mutated excommunicate Marines who aren't really Chaos or imperial.

>"Eh, it's not really my thing..."
>Hands me "Fulgrim"
>mfw I finished it

have a pre-heresy Emperor's Sons army now.

These gentlemen all speak the truth, Abnett's a really good place to start. Read Eisenhorn then Ravenor and come back and thank me later.

Also the Horus Heresy is brilliant, Fulgrim was a highlight as was Descent of Angels.

I've read the first three of the horus heresy which were good.
Also Path of the warrior is a good eldar book, but eldar prophecy was trash, might try the eisenhorn books soon.

Any good books based on the Necrons? Any that are in audiobook format?
