What books give you that feeling of paranoia and dread you get from plausible conspiracy theories?

The Holy Bible.

Stuff about con artists, so like Maria Konnikova's book, or the story of Anna Delavey, or Robert Chriton's "The Great Impostor". What's scarier to me than a well organized and intelligent but fundamentally evil cabal ruling the world is the idea that they're all as stupid and easily mislead as the rest of us

Why is this same exact sentence regurgitated any time a topic like this comes up on the internet? How long did you read this exact phrase on the internet and where?

You just ignored the question completely and gave your own opinion on conspiracy theories instead

You ignored the question it said "what gives you that feeling" - that gives me the feeling of paranoia. If butterflies freaked me out and made me paranoid then I'd mention books about butterlfies, but they don't. Capish?

I'm reading the Timaeus, which reminded me of Atlantis. I think the more familiar one becomes with the ancients, the more likely he is to believe in things like giants and lost civilizations.

>the flood that destroyed Atlantis was the Deluge

Fuck, why did I never make this connection before? It's so obvious in hindsight. And it implies that Atlantis itself was a society that had contact with the Nephilim/Watchers, which would explain the longstanding belief that they had wildly advanced tech.
