Hey /lit/

What was the first book you ever read? The earliest I can remember was 'The Bike Lesson', or 'The Very Hungry Caterpillar' or maybe even that one with the fish who wanted that shiny scale or something.

The first book I read from start to finish was Pinocchio.

The first book I remember reading entirely by myself was the Lion King "Disney classics" book. I was so fucking proud of myself, too. Sprawled out on the couch with the living room lamp turned on, my dad watching a "When Animals Attack" show quietly in the background, imagining the film in my head as I went along... laughing at the page that had Rafiki's big red butt... tearing up when Mufasa died... getting scared by the hyenas. 96 pages of sweet, sweet Lion King.
