Trying to fix my brain. Used to read a lot as a teenager, now I feel dumb after years of drugs and mindlessly looking at computer screen, even in comparison to 16 year old me. Trying to get back in what used to interest me, reading a psychological book now, feels good. But finishing it so I need some good /his/ and /pol/ books, they can't be too difficult and boring(I used to read academic books back then with passion, but now even simple shit like Davies bore me to death...), as my attention spans are trash rn. Ideas?

It's over.
Your brain is not plastic anymore.
You have forever fucked yourself.
Congratulations. Enjoy being dumb forever.

Read Uncle Ted for /pol/. For /his/, very broad, but here are some of my favorites:
>The Empire of the Steppes - Rene Grousset (because who isn't interested by 1000 years of steppe chads?)
>The Russian Anarchists - Paul Avrich (it's a well written book about an interesting series of movements even if you don't agree with them)
>The Thirty Years War - C.V. Wedgewood (self explanatory)
>The American Fur Trade of the Far West - Hiram M. Chittenden (well written and actually *does* integrate geography and political, economic and social history like every history book claims to do despite most failing)

Start small with short easy books to build a habit then find what you like. The books being short makes it rewarding faster when you do finish one which should encourage you to read more.
Some short books somewhat frequently discussed here: Animal Farm, The Stranger, Brave New World, Metamorphosis, Fahrenheit 451, Anthem, Great Gatsby, Catcher in the Rye, Notes from the Underground.

Dopamine fasting + concentration meditation, fellow victim of the internet.

Dopamine fasting is a meme. It won't make a thing and in the end, you'll just end up in the same position. What is really a thing, it's to gradually replace bad habits with good ones and there are a lot of very individual ways of doing this.

Dopamine fasting can be good at getting you started. It's like rehab but is actually really rehab.

I recommend Tragedy & Hope by Carroll Quigley. It's both /his/ and /pol/.

No, dopamine fasting simply doesn't work. You can't lower or higher your dopamine receptor levels. It's a misinterpretation of neurobiology.

Read Freud, manga, and history books. The ultimate combo. I’ve fixed my brain back to it’s original state so perfectly that I feel like a child again and I have to remind myself that I’m an adult now.

That's funny, theory says it doesn't work but in the real world it does work. I guess reality is wrong again, thanks ivory tower retard.

Andrew Huberman said it worked for his nephew and he's a pretty big fish in neuroscience circles.

It probably has more to do with dopamine neuron sensitivity or summat than "hurr dopamine neuron go higher".
