Pretty sure he’s been accused of being an Uncle Tom. He and Malcolm had friction. Ultimately he was great at what he did and it’s a shame more people like him aren’t around today. Alex deserves equal credit as Malcolm for the autobiography. He put form and narrative into Malcolm’s fascinating life. I say this as someone who doesn’t particularly like niggers. The Autobiography is quick, fun interesting read

One of the best books ever. You read it and realize Malcolm x has more in common with your swinging tip topper scallywag great grandpa than any modern nigger. It's also a legit superhero origin story where he had to defeat the man who made him who he was, like ironman or Batman. Alex Haley's take especially was the best part. How he just calls his religion a cult and points out Malcolm x turned an innocent black girl into a crack whore.

What this anon >>19757153 said. For the most part, Malcolm thought in broad terms. White people were the devil but the white people in his life weren’t. He grew up and socialized with white people all his life. He was the class president in an otherwise all white school before the civil rights movement, so he was clearly popular and got along with whites. His problem seems to be that he was to prone to being used as a lap/attack dog for other people’s views. Whatever he was told, he believed and fought for that 100%. He reminds me of /pol/ in how naive and brainwashable he was. Ultimately he was a charismatic person who died way too young before he could find his true beliefs which I believe were religious. It would be ironic if Malcolm could have been the person to heal the race divide
