Is reading the rest of 5 books or whatever worth it, or is it just more of dude what if like muslims but like in SPACE with dated technical mumbo jumbo thrown in?

If you are going to have such a shit attitude about it, then I guess you didn't enjoy the first book, in which case why on earth would you need to ask anyone if you should read 5 more books?

yes because its the only good parts of dune after his son ruined it with shameless cashgrabbing lies of his fathers legacy. if you enjoy dune then thats all the dune youre going to get. some parts are rough, but if you could get past the front loaded 1st book to enjoy the latter half, you can get through the 2 all loaded books to enjoy the other books too.
messiah is more like an add on to the first book anyways, dramatically shorter than all the others.
