I've been going through this cycle lately. I spend all day at work unable to stop thinking about writing, about all the stuff I want to express and the story I want to expand upon and I come home and it's a grueling task trying to squeeze it out of my brain.

ideas don't mean shit if you don't put the actual man hours behind it. everyone has ideas. writing is like any other skill where you need to turn passion into a habit, because your motivation won't be there for 99% of the the actual work. writing also takes fucking practice to get good at. guess what, those 19th century writers that were so good at it, were writing letters that would accumulate to the size of a small novella every single day since the day they learned to write. they weren't born special. and no, low effort 4chan posts, don't count as writing practice. anyone who has finished and published a big novel can tell you writing isn't a fun hobby.
