It’s up there with House of Leaves in terms of inventiveness and gimmicks. Just gorier and with the bizarre twist. Call of the Arcade is also worth a read. I lean more toward Call of the Arcade because Sam was such a strong villain and the central mystery of the Polybus machine was pretty interesting.
