after a week youll clunkily play simple chord progression songs (if your wee fingers dont hurt too much). After a month itll be a lot more fun.
Id say after half a year youll have proper fun with such daily exercise and youll know a couple dozen songs at least. Im also self taught 5 years.

How is this /lit/, anon?

Can you recommend how I can go about doing this if I'm literally just some faggot with a guitar I found by a dumpster a few weeks ago and I want to eventually learn to play classical guitar, not really modern guitar or guitar for accompaniment by singing at all

What's the best way to get fundamentals down if I am willing to do it every day but I probably can't afford lessons? I don't mind doing some slow burn stuff, my problem is I don't even know how to start.

Any good books on how to play the guitar?

the internet has made 90% of (simple) guitar teachers irrelevant.
You can find everything you want online.
Simply practicing is the best way obviously. If you are already musically inclined the learning curve will be shorter.
And if you really want to play classical guitar (no idea which culture's guitar you mean), but if it is some proper skill like spanish, then maybe do consider taking some in person classes for fundamentals eventhough I was fine going off online lessons for shit like gypsy jazz, but I also only play for my own pleasure.

It's alright anon, I won't report your thread because your thread is actually better than 80% of the threads which are technically 'on-topic.' /lit/-posters only know how to meme, post girls, and seethe.

Start by learning chords and scales. If you want to play classical you will eventually need a classical guitar (the wider neck and nylon strings are better suited to the style), but you can at least start learning the basics. Everyone will tell you to watch youtube videos but I can't stand learning that way, I'd much rather have a book. Unfortunately I don't know of any beginner classical guitar books.
