Well, now. This board hates Infinite Jest, so don't mention it to them.

why's that

What thoughts should we share that we haven't already?

I think it's the best book I've read from the last 20 years.

Because we think it's so badly written, and irrelevant, and most of all, we can't stand David Foster Wallace. Yeah. We think that book is only for hipsters.

true. well i've never discussed it with anyone because no one i know has read it haha. ex gf tried but couldn't and gave it to me to try. took me forever. first half was like a couple few months but then summer came and i finished it out in a week. so i think now that i've graduated i can finish it faster/fully grasp more things in it and see how they tie together.

Whatever and all that.

can you stop talking for everyone? you have some of the shittest opinions on this board and nobody shares them with you
except in this case

>> No.1972154

DFW has horrible sense of character. He moves them around and shoves his words into their mouths until everyone in his book ends up looking like a ragdoll with DFW's hand up their ass.

Hehe. Wow. I can't believe people thought I was serious. This is the Chosen Book of this board. They never shut up about it. I was just preying on the naivety of our friend.

IMO, the book is average. Overwrought, extremely repetitive, and boring. Having said that, some sections were great, and I like postmodernism in general.
