This is completely false and if you want to know why you need to read actual texts on gnosticism instead of /lit/'s sophomoric opinions on it. Hans Jonas is exhaustive and insightful.

Gnosticism is precisely about transcending those layers. Monistic annihilation (the "absolute") is the ground of the layering from which all the arbitrary shit springs forth. It is the "universal ultimate reality" and the gnostic project is to exit its ontological constraints. The way out is the complete rejection of the layers of existence, which means a rejection of the monistic One.

In any case, you're escaping this nondescript monistic dissolution into the monadic womb and doing the exact opposite, which is using the subjective individual as the ground.
