What sre some good books about Christian way of living?

I actually wouldn't recommend the Imitation for a layman, at least for a beginner one. Imitation was written for monks by monks. It colors everything in the text.

This is much better and is one of my favorite books.

Other recommendations:
St. Francis of Sales's Philothea
St. Alphonsus Liguori's The Practice of Love of Jesus Christ, and also Uniformity with God's Will

Tolstoy offers some interesting insights. Even if you fully don't agree with him, I really enjoyed his take on the implications of the Sermon on the Mount for being a Christian. Unironically read the last chapter of the book first, as it helps you make sense of the rest of the book. God bless OP.
