How would you rank James Joyce's books in terms of difficulty?

>> No.19710437

Dubliners and Portrait are fairly easy. Only challenging if you don’t read literature. Extensive Irish knowledge makes it seem harder than it is

Ulysses and Wake. Schizophrenic gibberish

>> No.19711344

Are they difficult because you're retarded or because they're bad

>> No.19711351

1. Finnegans Wake
2. Ulysses
3. Portrait
4. Dubliners.

Yes.

>> No.19711378

I read Potrait after reading Ulysses, and Finnegans. I found there are many references in the latter books explained by the former. Things like street names and school names.

about 50/50
