Nathan Ballingrud’s “North American Lake Monsters” collection had some top tier comfy spooks, the one set in New Orleans especially. Some are decidedly Not Comfy though

It's about a schizo trying to live a normal life, having social relationships and regular routines until reality starts bending around him, he learns morse code out of autism because he saw a war movie and suddenly hears a bird tapping on his window sending a morse code message saying "it's coming" and much more hallucinations.

look up anthologies by Martin Kaye. they're by different authors, Martin just chooses them basically. they can be found for cheap on used book sites
