19661923 No.19661923 [Reply] [Original]

Hey guys. There is this girl I like who likes to read. I was thinking of asking her if she wants to read a book with me. Do you guys have any suggestions for what would be a good book?

We have both read some classic literature but I think that would be too stuffy of a choice. And I also don't think it would be good to read something very long. Something modern would be good, like the Book Thief (except not being a depressing holocaust book).

I don't really read much. My favorite book is Crime and Punishment. But mostly I just read manga. I know its low IQ, but I like to think my verbal IQ/reading comprehension skills are still pretty good.

She likes Jane Austen, and typical art hoe stuff like song of achilles or rupi kaur

I know, we are retards... just halp pls

Newfag here. So guys (and women) when someone calls you a fag does that mean they actually mean your very manly? It's like a complement or like saying bro like a camaraderie thing? Are we all just really friends here? Do we really love each other? Homosexually? Are we fags? omg. Is that why we call each other fags?

Good suggestion anon. Many years ago, "Roman de la Rose" did a marvelously for me - "and then we read no more" as another poet put it; but it was spring and May, so unless the OP is the southern hemisphere it may not be suitable. Sei Shonagon's The Pillow book might be a good choice - comfy and plenty of winters there.

It doesn't mean homosexual and it's not really an insult. It's like saying 'man' and in the case of 'newfag' it's like -head in 'crackhead' or 'metalhead', or -ist in 'communist' or 'rapist'.

Anyway, lurkmoar.
