Middle is ok, never finished it though. Just start with the Greeks instead, or whatever is interesting. Don't pursue knowledge for the sake of being well-learned in order to impress your boorish peers or whatever. Just find areas that are cool and which you enjoy reading about, and go wherever that leads you.
