It isn't really Hermeticism, I studied more authentic Hermeticism and then read Kybalion and was very disappointed, it is very thin and meant for the masses. Read (and re-read/study) pic related, and the accompanying works, then read the ancient and medieval Hermetic/alchemical texts, since you will have the key, or at least be well on your way to obtaining it, if you are worthy. It makes the Kybalion look like kindergarten playtime.

I found this book along with An Encyclopedic Outline of Masonic, Hermetic, Qabbalistic and Rosicrucian Symbolical Philosophy: Being an Interpretation of the Secret Teachings concealed within the Rituals, Allegories and Mysteries of all Ages.


The Kybalion was smaller so I decide to begin with it. Starts fine, I enjoy it so far, expect it to dive deeper into the so called "principles", instead repeats the same things over and over again. Instant delete. It was awful like reading some cuckold's principles on whatever the fuck came to his mind, no substance.

There is a reason there are 101,201,301 etc etc classes in Unis and they all have different books. I will wager there are maybe 4 people on this board who wont get filtered by pic related so obviously it isnt the best book for them to start with. Just because a book is for beginners doesnt make it pleb tier either, it just means it goes more into intro stuff like a capeshit origin story. The more you learn however if you go back and re-read it you will still get more from it whereas pic related you have to already be at a master level to even be able to begin to comprehend it

He didn't. You can read the review he wrote on it. He said it was good except for Evola's claim that it was always a Royal Art and that it was a Tradition in itself. Guenon claimed that it was originally priestly (from Hermes-Thoth) and that it wasn't a complete Tradition, since it had no metaphysical side to back it up.

Many of those early 20th c. guys were correspondence-course salesmen first and occultists/mytics tenth. Spirituality is meant for the elite, this book presents some profound concepts that only varying levels of true initiates will fully understand, but it writes them down in a few words to be memorised as if it were a textbook and there was nothing else to it.

It doesn't even present beginner concepts in a sufficient manner. It is very thin, like the authors didn't really grasp what they were writing. Right away you are comparing it to academic knowledge, esoteric knowledge is completely different. You would know this if you had higher standards.

As for Blavatsky, there is not even evidence for her having been in contact with who she claims, it could have been any sort of subversive influence. And you don't have to be at a master level to understand Blavatsky.
