The main reason I studied humanities is because I was bad at math. How do I cope with this?

I doubt it'd make much of a difference. Some people are smart and others just aren't cut out for it.

If it doesn't make a difference, why cope? Just live with it.

It makes me feel like my life choices were entirely limited and a result of my lack of intelligence. I'm constantly living out of a consolation prize. This realization is destroying my confidence and my ability to live in a fulfilling way.

That would be you being unable to deal with either desu. Trust me, I know.

For you, the best way to cope would be to read a bunch of obscure, obtuse philosophy and insult others about their ignorance and intellectual inferiority.

That's mean, I don't want to push other people around, especially when they could just read the same stuff and get on my level. Unlike with math, anyone can read and understand philosophy if they try.

this is what i told myself when was placed in remedial math through grade school, and when i failed calculus I and then only got a C- when re-taking it. After I decided to stop being a faggot and apply myself instead of assuming I was never meant to be good at math, I ended up completing a mechanical engineering degree with an average of B+. Just stop being a faggot, that's literally all there is to it

Thank God I had a job lined up after graduation because getting an English degree was a terrible choice. Math sucks.

I don't think it'd make much of a difference now, that ship has long sailed. I'm doing a humanities degree and I dread thinking about all the retraining I'd have to undertake in order to have a flimsy shot.

This is just a cope. STEMfags can read philosophy too and walk away as virtuous men. Dumbasses like me can't figure out how to find x no matter how "illuminated" we try to make ourselves out to be.

I remember my first day at college how during the presentations the newcomers get every year -nothing fancy, just the alumni in a classroom- among all the information they gave us about tutoring, schedules and all that buzz, they asked us about our motivation. Of course, the presenter joked that we were just there "because we sucked at math". There were a few nervous laughs, but I and I suspect everyone else knew that he had hit the nail right on the head.

There are still a couple of cultured STEMfags, but they're increasingly rare. I'm in a speech and debate team, so everyone is more or less cultured and politically aware, and there are a grand total of 2 STEMfags there - the rest are intimidated by math and don't even know what Pascal's Triangle is.
However, you can only find those STEMfags in places that attract humanities people. I've never seen a humanitiesfag do anything STEM.

Honestly, essays are just wordy proofs. If you can do proofs, you can do essays. After that, it's just practice.
