Remember to support your local book shops anons. I stopped by a local book shop I'd never been to yesterday and bought all of the above for a little more than twenty bucks. Don't give in to the e-book piracy craze. Used book shops often have tons of great old-school mass-market paperbacks for a buck or less.

Recent purchases, 3/4 of which were bought on Amazon (The Black Death I bought from Indigo). Before you ask, yes I am an Amazon Chad. I bought these as a Christmas gift to myself because they were in my Amazon Books wishlist for so long. I still have one more book on German SS 5th Division Wiking coming in January. Pretty cool.

It's extremely dated and huge swaths of it are pure garbage (arguing John Disciple was writer of John etc.)

I paid 4 dollars for it at a used book store and use it as a reference for encyclopedic entries (such as an overview of the development of the idea of the Messiah, the)

Some of the writers are much worse than others about bending everything to an imprimatur.

John Dominic Crossan wrote the entry for Chronicles lol... under editor Raymond Brown. I find that fairly cute.
