Yes. It's a hodge-podge ofof different books from different publishers which has gone through countless different hands. I don't give a fuck about the aesthetics so long as I can open it up and read it that's all I ask at this point.

Here's the deal: open both covers on a flat surface, and then equal small amounts of pages on each side and press down, keep doing that until you reach the middle. Et voilà, broken in spine that won't suffer

I read one handed, so I fold the book back on itself, i.e. so I'm reading one page, with the opposite page facing away from me. The creases are inevitable. Though some books survive better than others, even within the same series.
