As you may have deduced, anal sex with men is my forté.

What. The. Fuck.
I mean, seriously. I would have gone for a regular poem about sex with a woman, but anal sex? What the shit?

First of all, I'm the anon wot recommended "Les Stupra" in that thread about queer literature a few hours ago. So don't pretend like you just discovered this all on your own. Also, it's a collaborative work. This octave of the sonnet is by Paul Verlaine. The sestet is by Rimbaud.

There is a very good translation of the sonnet by Craig Raine, which was first printed in his collection The Onion: Memory.

You do realize there is a movie where Leonardo di Caprio plays Rimbaud and has a gay sex scene? The good news is he gets naked. The bad news is he's topping Professor Lupin.

But if you're interested in more reading.....well, John Ashbery's new translation of Rimbaud is amazing. Graham Robb's biography is basically definitive (although Enid Starkie is still in print, she just is a little more coy about the buttsecks).

And shit /lit/ get it together. It's not ONLY a poem about anal sex. It's a poem about rimming. At least the bit that Rimbaud wrote.

Is it just me or is Rimaud slightly egomaniacal..
