I seriously loved this short story. Are there any more short stories like it? They don't necessarily have to be sci-fi, although it is more preferable for me.

In short, I just want a relatively short story/book that will make my brain orgasm.

I couldn't find this short in any of the collections, which one is it in, a friend recommended it to me.

You could read it here, or google the pdf.

Baby's first science fiction story.

Not really. I read a lot of sci-fi. I just like the story since it's SHORT. I want something short. Short people are much more amusing than regular people. Can't say the same thing about short dicks though. SHORT, SHORT, SHORT. MAKE THIS SHORT AND JUST POST SHORT STORIES. FUCK.

Try some Fredric Brown, OP:

Anything by Phillip K Dick

>Asimov
>My body is ready

I have a collection of a few of his stories. This is the only sci-fi I like (unless you count that trilogy by C.S. Lewis). The Last Question is what made me read more of him.

Most aren't short.

Recommended if you like Asimov: The Martian Chronicles by Ray Bradbury.

Are you kidding me? Most of his short stories are of average length. Sure, the more rewarding ones are a bit longer, but quit being a bitch.

I can't stand The Last Question, it's not even a damn story

If you're really obsessed with the length, there's plenty of short-short story forums out there you can browse. If it's just sci-fi short stories generally, I recommend (in no particular order) Heinlein's "-All You Zombies-", Ellison's "The Whimper of Whipped Dogs" and "The Beast That Shouted Love At The Heart Of The World" and "I Have No Mouth And I Must Scream", Arthur C Clarke's "The Nine Billion Names of God", Tiptree's "Love Is The Plan The Plan Is Death", LeGuin's "The Ones Who Walk Away From Omelas", Terry Bisson's "They're Made Out Of Meat" (http://www.terrybisson.com/page6/page6.html)), and "All Mimsy Were The Borogoves" by Lewis Padgett.

But my one biggest recommendation is that you read "The Man Who Lost The Sea", by Ted Sturgeon. It's simply incredible. http://strangehorizons.com/2009/20090413/lostsea-f.shtml

Shinichi Hoshi writes a lot of very short short stories, usually science fiction. I wouldn't say they're as good as a lot of Asimov's, but they are definitely short.

Daniil Kharms also writes a lot of very short stories, although those are absurdist and not really sci-fi. They should, however, make your "brain orgasm."

it's an idea, a bit of speculation about science. it's beneath an incredibly thin veneer of fiction, but seriously, there's no narrative or character there. it's a speculative idea and no more.

just my opinion, of course. obviously a lot of people like it.

I dunno, try reading Heinlein and Clarke, I guess.
